The Petoskey Department of Public Safety is actively seeking applicants for this year's Citizen Academy. The Academy was created to build a stronger bond between the community and the department. Members of the class will learn about law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical services. While informative, the members get to see first-hand what the Department of Public Safety does in a real life setting, and also get some hands-on experience performing some of the duties required in public safety.

The class is free and open to anyone in the area. The Department of Public Safety welcomes those who might be interested in a career in law enforcement, the fire service or emergency medical services and anyone who might be interested in learning what the department does in the public safety profession.

Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M., starting September 7, 2017 and ending on October 26, 2017.
